Happy (New) year of Buffalo

Other cultures might call the year of Ox. My dear friend calls the year of Cow. She chose the icon of the milk cow. Look so cute. We have Buffalo (con Trâu) among 12 animals (( Tý (Rat), Sửu (Buffalo), Dần (tiger), Mão (Cat), Thìn (Dragon), Tỵ (Snake), Ngọ (Horse), Mùi (Goate), Thân (Monkey), Dậu ((chicken), Tuất (Dog), Hợi (Pig)).

we call năm tuổi when the new year will fall the same animal we were born to. For example, my brother was born in 1985, the year of buffalo. so this year will be his "năm tuổi". it might be called superstitious when we believe that in three years which năm tuổi is in the middle of the three, we always should be careful when we travel, or at work, or at the communication with others. In the năm tuổi, we tend to experience more bad lucks than usual.

Therefore, it becomes my habit to make silent wishes for people I care about when I know the new year is their năm tuổi.

Buffalo is considered strong but conservative and rigid. So funny that I see my brother that way. The same way he sees me. we might not be very much different, after all.

although he is not my cup of tea, I wish him a peaceful year. With peace, we do not have to worry about money, health, or status, etc. We are at ease with others and ourselves.

Buffalo is actually pretty curious and smart (to my standard) as I approach both cows and buffalo, the latter watched me a lot while the first ignored me.
